When we initially 'went live' in 2010 our focus was two-fold; to bring to light the stories and events that residents would find of interest as well as to support our community in such a way that others would support our businesses and to consider joining us as a fellow resident!

In five short years, social media usage has exploded across generations, e-commerce rules nearly every marketplace and information has never been more readily available.

So why do we continue?

Simple, the human element.  BCF is about our community and our residents.  Our family.

And so we evolve.  On a technical level, our new site will feature:

• Smoother navigation
• Improved mobile responsiveness for smartphones and tablets
• Integrated social media
• Increased opportunity for your contributions and interactions
• Broader accessiblility via Google, Yahoo! and other search engines

From a content perspective, we'll maintain and improve the old favorites as well as incorporating new features and services that you can use!  New and upcoming modules will include:

• The Beavercreek Heritage Trail - an interactive tour of Beavercreek's heritage, from the early pioneers, to the street cars of the interurban railway, to the muscle cars and construction boom of the 1960's and 70's.
• Buy Beavercreek! - a new, all-inclusive directory of local and/or locally owned businesses.  From cottage industries to our largest employers, everyone may opt-in at their choosing.
• Reviews You Can Use - a brand new BCF interactive feature where we we'll highlight the benefits local shops, restaurants and service providers deliver.
• Local Events Calendar - a running list of current events in our community that everyone can contribute to!
• Charitable Opportunities - we'll be spearheading more initiatives to support our own, whether through direct or indirect fundraising, donations-in-kind, or bringing light to organizations or individuals in our community who need a helping hand.
• And Much More! - on the near horizon we wish to greatly expand our 'Things To Do' list, incorporating embedded video plus your input!
