Contrary To Reports, We Are Fine!

You shouldn't have to dig so deeply for good news about our community! There's plenty buried right under your nose...

Perhaps I'm a little sensitive, but it seems evident that since a certain mass transit discussion the local mainstream media has soured on our little town.  Any opportunity to cast a dark cloud news story over Beavercreek is seized with a vigor unseen since the Glengarry leads.

I'm well aware of the 'if it bleeds, it leads' adage.  I also recognize that Brian Williams isn't the only newsie to sensationalize a story in an attempt to make it more gripping.  Got it.

My issue is that throughout the entire RTA discussion and resolution as well as the incident at Walmart and subsequent protests, media reports and bloggers (like these open-minded, potty-mouthed charmers) painted with a brush broad enough to inflict judgement on us all.  The baiting efforts that were made to keep those story lines front-and-center were deplorable and stepped well over the line of journalism and into the murky world of op-ed; all the while maintaining their front page 'news' presence in both print and digital media.

So when the 5 o'clock, 5:30, 6 o'clock, 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock news has you reaching for an antacid... flip the channel to your friends at BeavercreeksLiving.com and The Beavercreek Buzz to freshen your outlook and find a new center.

So what's good?

Beavercreek is a wonderful place to live and raise a family - as are MANY communities in the greater Dayton area.  Unfortunately, news reporting is dominated by the worst stories rather than the best.  Take some time to dig deeper!  Get to know the people and businesses right here at home and share in the pride of the growth, affordability, safety and opportunity in Beavercreek.
